Those who remember the Disney film will recall how, in one scene, the Sheriff takes the last farthing from the son of a poor widow, and Robin Hood, witnessing this spineless act, vows his revenge. In this version the villain was the Sheriff of Nottingham who went door to door collecting excessive taxes from the people. In it, our hero wasn’t busy taking money from people who earned it, but instead from unscrupulous tax collectors so that he could return it to those over-taxed. The story of Robin Hood we remember best was depicted in the 1973 Disney animated film. ![]() On the contrary, Sanders is a government official who has respect for other government officials.Īs for being loved by the people, we’ll soon find out whether or not Sanders has support from the national populace. Only two clear commonalities exist: he is portrayed as a rebel who was hated by government officials and loved by the people.
